But as the covers were beautiful series Cerchiorosso?
Many do not have certainly never even heard of, and for two good reasons. No problem, Jack now says.
The first reason is that all this was done quite some 'time ago. The number one was released in October of 1978, do you calculate how many years until today. The second reason is that it was a series that lasted very little, stopping after 38 numbers in early 1982. In this period went through a change of format and three changes of graphics, a sign that sales were not as they would wish.
Cerchiorosso was a brave attempt to bring the adventure novels on sale, alongside other popular series such as gender, yellow Mondadori Urania (science fiction) and Secret (intelligence). Same size, and color eye-catching, red. And to cover the great Carlo Jacono, who already signed and Yellow Top Secret. But ...
Already, there is one though. Because the reason I have seen this popular series of booklets is he, Carlo Jacono. Since then a Young omnivorous devourer of Urania, also occasionally ogle the covers of twin necklaces, and had learned to recognize his illustrations, by their characteristic structure which he characterized both the yellow (its already popular) than on Secret (little brother, in need of treatment). My favorite Italian illustrator at the time was already the largest Aldo Di Gennaro, known in the Corriere dei Ragazzi and occasionally I saw on the covers of books from library.
But it was love at first sight, this time, when I saw that the submarine in the ice ... in an appendix of Urania, in the advertising end number. Urania took in a few markets, in subsequent years. Already, in 1978 had not yet begun to devour FS. The shrine visit it from time to time, looking only in the field of comics and magazines in those models. So Cerchiorosso was born and died in my absolute ignorance.
So many years passed before the benches of the flea markets I could recover some of those numbers. And I could see those beautiful pictures, without having to wait four years to finish the series - and it did not conclude at all, actually, since I still have a few dozen missing numbers.
The covers, I said. Not only close-ups of faces or arms, but illustrations intact, even when the drawings were made with pencil and brush. E. .. Well, how do I explain the feeling? Years of study of art history books on Giulio Carlo Argan taught me that what is perhaps not the right method to describe and explain the concept of "beautiful".
Here, with everything I saw and learned to appreciate until now, I can say that as a benchmark between the designs seen on popular publications, the cover for Carlo Jacono Cerchiorosso were certainly among the best.
Seeing is believing.
But the books as they were?
I have no idea. I read only "Esther, Ruth and Jennifer, a number that published a book which was made into a very nice film with Roger Moore Jennifer alarm platform "(or was the adaptation of the film? Boh), which amused me a lot. Other
